Flying and Gliding

In the Air Training Corps, opportunities arise allowing cadets to goon air experience flights. These consist of either powered flying or gliding. Cadets are taken to an RAF Station where they will each have a flight lasting about half an hour.

The last time 144 Richmond Sqn went flying was on the 21st March 2004. The 6 cadets that went each had a flight with an instructor in the Tutor, whether it was aerobatics that they did or learning aero-nautical skills, they all agreed that the day had been excellent!!

The ATC also enables cadets to apply for flying or gliding scholarships. These allow for a cadet to train to a standard where they could fly an aircraft solo.
