Classifications
 

First Class is where every cadet must start their on their training. A cadet here will learn the basics of the subjects that they need to know to help them continue their service in the ATC. Without this basic knowledge a cadet is unable to participate in some activities run in the ATC and it should take you about 6months to complete. the subjects you must learn about are:

  • The Air Training Corp

  • The Royal Air Force

  • The Rifle

  • Initial Expedition Training

  • First Aid

  • Map Reading

  • History of Flight

  • Airmanship 1

  • Basic Radio Communication

  • Drill & Drill Theory 

The second level of cadet training is Leading. It has been designed to increase your interest in aviation. This is also where you will begin various projects to help in your training, which will take up the bulk of your time at this level. This level  should take you nine months to complete and as well as the project you will also have to sit these subjects:

  • Basic Navigation

  • Principles of Flight

  • Airmanship II  

The Senior level allows a cadet to start making a chose in what they wish to learn, to enable them to specialize in a subject area they find most interesting. They still have to complete a project and again it will take about nine months to complete. A cadet may choose two of the subjects listed below:( But one of the chose must be Air Navigation or Aircraft Operations)

  • Propulsion

  • Airframes

  • Air Navigation

  • Meteorology

  • Aircraft Operations

  • Communications/Radar

  • Space Vehicles 

The final level of training is the Staff cadet. This level is split into two parts. The first part is the same as the previous level in that you choose any two of the previous subjects and carry out a project. Once this is passed you then have an interview with a wing staff officer who will question you on all the subjects you have done throughout your time in the Corps and general questions about the corps. Once you have passed both part you receive a Lanyard.
